प्रतीक यादव के निधन की खबर से पूरे उत्तर प्रदेश में शोक की लहर दौड़ गई है। समाजवादी पार्टी के समर्थकों के साथ-साथ उनके करीबी और शुभचिंतक भी गहरे सदमे में हैं। बुधवार सुबह अचानक तबीयत बिगड़ने के बाद प्रतीक यादव को लखनऊ के सिविल अस्पताल ले जाया गया था। अस्पताल पहुंचने पर डॉक्टरों ने उनकी पल्स और हार्ट रेट जांची, लेकिन शरीर में किसी प्रकार की हलचल नहीं मिली। इसके बाद डॉक्टरों ने उनका ईसीजी किया, जिसमें भी कोई गतिविधि सामने नहीं आई। आखिरकार डॉक्टरों ने उन्हें मृत घोषित कर दिया।
निधन की खबर सामने आते ही उनके आवास और अस्पताल के बाहर लोगों की भारी भीड़ जमा हो गई। बाद में उनके शव को पोस्टमार्टम के लिए केजीएमयू के मॉर्चरी हाउस भेजा गया, जहां अखिलेश यादव भी मौजूद रहे। डॉक्टरों की टीम ने पूरे पोस्टमार्टम की वीडियोग्राफी के साथ जांच की। बुधवार शाम करीब चार बजे आई पोस्टमार्टम रिपोर्ट में मौत की वजह कार्डियक अरेस्ट बताई गई। हालांकि रिपोर्ट में शरीर पर कुछ चोटों के निशान मिलने का भी उल्लेख किया गया, जिसके बाद मामले को लेकर कई सवाल खड़े हो गए हैं।

Along with Samajwadi Party supporters, his well-wishers and close associates are deeply shocked by the sudden loss. On Wednesday morning, after his health reportedly deteriorated, Prateek Yadav was rushed to the Civil Hospital in Lucknow. Doctors immediately checked his pulse and heart rate, but found no signs of movement or response. An ECG test was also conducted, but it showed no activity. Following this, doctors officially declared him dead. As soon as the news spread, a huge crowd gathered outside both his residence and the hospital. Later, his body was sent to the KGMU mortuary house for post-mortem examination, where Akhilesh Yadav was also present. A team of doctors conducted the post-mortem, and the entire process was videographed. According to the post-mortem report released around 4 PM on Wednesday, the cause of death was stated to be cardiac arrest. However, the report also mentioned the presence of some injury marks on his body, raising several questions and increasing public curiosity surrounding the case.
