This video made me like walking around in my city more. I love Grand Theft Auto 5 and Los Santos.

1) NPS Preservation Briefs
For whatever reason the national parks service put out a booklet on how to identify buildings by their architecture. I ended up simplifying, glossing over, and adjusting some of these strict methods for the flow of the video, but a lot of the basic knowledge comes from in here.

The NPS has lots of these articles, so here's another one that we took bits of information from.

2) Misc. Articles On Architecture
A lot of the research was amalgams of articles like these, where it's just some blog writing things up about some particular aspect of architecture. These were kind of hairy, because a lot of them present their info as authoritative or self-evident without sourcing themselves, BUT, you see a lot of the same "common sense" tropes across these types of articles, so I figured for my silly YouTube video the sheer volume of repeated claims was sufficient.

3) Some Museum Website Stuff
These were less good for immediate info, but in terms of having informational "pillars" that I could use to find other things to look at it was helpful. Shoutout to small museums and conservation efforts.

4) California Government Websites
And of course, lots of visits to local websites for L.A. or California in general, most of which have little history sections or things you can look at.
