PART 2 POV: Jeden Tag etwas mit deiner Schwester teilen… Teil 2
PART 2 POV: Share something with your sister every day… Part 2. Three months ago, Lila and I had a huge fight – so big that we haven’t spoken to each other since. She is 14, I am 20, and we have always annoyed each other: I thought she was childish, she thought I was too conceited and distant. The fight started because of an old photo album – my favorite album from our childhood. Lila accidentally crumpled it, and I shouted at her, without listening that it was an accident. Since then, we have avoided each other like two enemies in the same house.
Last month, I watched my favorite YouTuber’s video: “PART 2 POV: Share something with your sister every day… Part 2”. He talked about his sister, their fights, and the reconciliation that came through sharing. I thought long and hard – I didn’t want us to spend our lives hating each other. So I decided to make the promise: Share something with Lila every day, even if she doesn’t want it, even if it’s hard.
On the first day, I gave her a glass of coffee – her favorite coffee, with lots of milk and sugar – and placed it quietly on her desk, without saying a word. When I came back, the glass was empty, and there was a small note next to it: “I don’t want to talk to you.” I didn’t give up. On the second day, I shared a clip from our favorite childhood movie – the one we used to watch together – and sent it to her via message. She watched it, but didn’t reply.
On the seventh day, I brought her the crumpled photo album – I had glued it back together, with new pages and a small note: “I’m sorry I shouted at you. It was my fault, I didn’t listen. This album is not just mine – it belongs to both of us. Let’s enjoy it together again.” When I gave it to her, she started crying. “I felt terrible too,” she said, “I didn’t want to hurt you, it was an accident.”
Since then, we share something every day – sometimes a smile, sometimes a conversation, sometimes just watching TV together. I shared my problems at work with her, she shared her friends and her dreams with me. We learned to listen to each other, to understand each other, and to admit our mistakes. Last night, we looked at the photo album together, laughed at our silly childhood photos, and promised never to avoid each other for so long again.
PART 2 POV: Share something with your sister every day… Part 2. I never thought that sharing has such great power – it can turn enmity into love, conflict into reconciliation, and distance into closeness. Lila and I are no longer enemies – we are sisters who love and support each other. Sharing has shown us that the love between sisters is stronger than any fight, stronger than any hurt. So I promise you: Share something with your sister every day – you will never regret doing it. 💛😱
