When your bum cries in poop π©π©π©
Have you ever had diarrhoea? π© It happens when there's too much water in your stool (poo), making it loose.
There are many different causes of diarrhoea. π
Diarrhoea can be the result of a short-term illness, like food poisoning or gastro, or a symptom of an ongoing problem or a chronic condition, like Crohn's Disease or irritable bowel syndrome.
An isolated episode of diarrhoea will often clear up without any treatment.
You should seek medical advice if you experience any of the following:
π diarrhoea that doesn't clear up in a few days
π a fever
π blood or mucus in your poo
π diarrhoea at night.
Diarrhoea can lead to dehydration and an electrolyte (salt) imbalance, so it's important to increase your fluids while you're sick. Water is a great choice, but drinks with electrolytes (like fruit juice, or sports drinks) are also recommended.
